Match Report
Stowe School 2nd X vs  Marlborough College
On: Saturday, 18 Sep 2021
Venue: Away

The 2nd team played some fantastic lacrosse at the Westonbirt triangular against the Westonbirt 2nd team and Marlborough 2nd team. No fewer than 4 girls made their competitive debut for Stowe Lacrosse.

Our excellent play started from the back with Erin Perez Quane, Milly Davis and Ally Ter Haar setting the standard with great work on and off ball and some of the best communication I have heard from a 4th form defence!

The draws were hotly contested with Maddie Long and Jodie Brogden both putting in a great shift at centre with the latter also contributing 2 goals and multiple assists.

Hattie Goodrich and Lexi Martin worked tirelessly in the midfield with defensive efforts, transitioning the ball up and being a goal threat- Hattie scored twice, while Lexi scored a long-range effort!

In attack Tiff Osibanjo and Maddy Baker were constant threats to the opposition defence. Tiff worked tremendously on re-defending which resulted in us scoring, while also scoring one herself. Maddy grabbed herself a hat-trick of goals while always looking calm with the ball- great work for someone who is still only in 4th form!

Overall the lacrosse was played at a fantastic level, especially considering this was the first game of the season. Every single girl put in maximum effort and left everything out on the field, showing great lacrosse IQ, willingness to be flexible on the field and change positions when required. The season ahead looks to be very exciting.
