Stowe arrived in a bit of a chaotic fashion to what was now a dark afternoon at Repton on their showcase pitch. After a brief warm-up the girls were ready to go and then started the game well, offering a strong defensive backbone with some connections going forward. After a minutes Stowe were finally overrun as Repton scored some impressive goals in quick succession. Stowe then dusted themselves off and got back in the fight, playing some strong hockey before reaching half time with the score at 0-5.

In the second half Stowe again started strongly, looking to impress themselves on the game and earn some chances, which they did, breaking the D on a few occasions with real intent and threat. The game continued to be a challenge, with Repton having the better of the play and scoring two more clinical goals, particularly on the right hand baseline, which Stowe struggled to adapt to quickly.

The game finished 0-7 to Repton, but Stowe had put in a decent account of themselves, although it would've been deserved to have a reflection of that on the scoreboard. Stowe now have a big week of training as they prepare for Oundle next weekend.
