Match report: Bath 8s 07/09/24
Stowe lacrosse 1st X travelled down to Bath early on Saturday morning to compete against Schools, Clubs and University sides. The first 2 games of the day were against Sherbourne 2nd team and 1st team. Stowe Came away with a draw and a narrow 1 goal loss. The girls warmed up after these games and had fantastic games against much more experienced opposition. Stowe drew 8-8 with the Armed forces team, won against Derby, Cambridge City and Cirencester. The mornings results led to Stowe placing 5th out of 25 team - the highest placed school and a place in the quarter finals.
The quarter final was against a much more experienced club side – Newbury Royals. An unfortunate yellow card led to Stowe being on the back foot at the start of the game and we could not recover in time, we lost 6-3.
Overall this Saturday was a fantastic experience for the 1st X. There was excellent team play and being exposed to that standard of lacrosse can only help in preparing them for the season to come.
