Match Report
Stowe School Girls-U14A vs  Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School
On: Tuesday, 08 Oct 2024
Venue: at Home

Today’s match against Sir Henry Floyd Grammar was an excellent opportunity to see our new netballers take to the court in their first competitive setting. Hopes that the rain would hold off were futile, as the heaven’s opened on the Stowe courts just as we set up to play. Nevertheless, the squad played with energy and spirit, supporting one another beautifully. With a large squad, we were able to try lots of variations for positional combinations, ahead of next week’s county tournament.

Jenna Coetzer led the group by example this afternoon, with an incredible work rate in centre court, while Veronica Owings and India Melville-Ross showed some sparkle in the attacking goal circle. Stowe took an early lead, with 8-5 on the scoreboard at the first interval. However, Sir Henry Floyd’s slick passing down the court enabled them to steadily claw back in front. The game remained level for a while, but Sir Henry Floyd gradually increased their lead to finish the game 36-25.
