Match Report
Stowe School Boys-U14B vs  Rugby School
On: Saturday, 18 Jan 2025
Venue: at Home

What an excellent start to the season!

Stowe weathered several early raids on our goal by the lively Rugby side early on, but we settled down and began to turn the momentum. Ozzy Visser maintained a solid defensive wall at the back. Spencer O'Boyle was effective in transferring the ball up the pitch and Jeremy George looked threatening at centre forward.

Spencer scored our first goal before half time, the end to end match continued in the second half, with Rugby getting several short corners. When defending these, Wilf Jansen proved to be a brave and effective disruptor. Stowe then scored a wonderful goal which started as our defensive 16 yard hit. The transfer up the team was seamless and Spencer O'Boyle buried it to give us a cushion with 10 minutes to go. Rugby did score after this, so the last five minutes were nervy, but we hung on for a thrilling win. Well done to all players.

Player of the match (who wins the Lion Bar) was Alfie de Courcy Ireland who selflessly volunteered to go in goal at the last minute and did a wonderful job!
